PRAYER & FASTING GUIDE
What is fasting? Generally, fasting is not about food, it is about God. We surrender something foundational to our lives (e.g., food) so we can focus on God as the ultimate provider and source of true life. There are a few forms of fasting, which include:

-
Daniel Fast: The Daniel Fast is found in the book of Daniel. This type of fasting allows the individual to eat only vegetables and fruits and consume only water and no sugary juices.
-
Full fasting: Is the most common type of fast found throughout the Bible. During a full fast, a person chooses to forgo all solid foods and limits their intake to only water.
-
Partial Fast: When one participates in a Partial Fast they typically agree to miss a meal, to spend that time in prayer. One great discipline for this sort of fasting is to take the money one would pay for lunch, save it, and give to someone who is needed. By doing so, one can combine two spiritual disciplines; fasting and generosity
Physically & Spiritually, Fasting requires preparation. At least several days ahead of time, do the following:
-
Seek God and list your prayer goals.
-
Eat healthy meals leading up to the fast.
-
Gradually eliminate coffee and sugar so your body can adjust.
-
Listen to your body. Consult a doctor if you have health issues or you are pregnant or nursing.
7 Day Prayer
Guide
Encourage spiritual growth and deepen your relationship with God by participating in our 7-day prayer guide during the week of prayer and fasting. Join us as we seek God's guidance and blessings this Trimester.
DAY 1: financial
Prayer: Heavenly Father, in the midst of financial uncertainty, we turn our hearts to you. We acknowledge that you are our Provider, our Sustainer, and the One who owns all resources. For those facing financial struggles, we pray for your divine intervention. Bring peace where there is anxiety, wisdom where there is confusion, and provision where there is lack. Open doors of opportunity, and guide us in making wise decisions. Help us to trust in your faithfulness, even when we cannot see the way forward. We ask for miracles in finances, breakthroughs in debts, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus' name, Amen.
DAY 2: Career
Prayer: Lord, we come before you with the challenges and decisions we face in our careers. In the workplace, where tensions can run high and decisions weigh heavy, we ask for your guidance and peace. Grant us wisdom in every decision, integrity in every action, and grace in every interaction. For those seeking new opportunities, open doors that no one can shut. For those struggling with difficult colleagues or situations, grant them the strength to stand firm in love and truth. Help us to work as unto you, finding purpose and fulfillment in what we do, and let our work be a reflection of your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
DAY 3: relationships
Prayer: Gracious God, we lift up to you the relationships in our lives. For marriages, we pray for unity, love, and mutual respect. Let husbands and wives grow closer to each other as they draw nearer to you. For families, we ask for peace in the home, understanding, and forgiveness where there has been hurt. For singles, we pray for contentment, patience, and the fulfillment of your perfect plan. May each relationship reflect your love, and may your grace fill every gap. Restore broken relationships, strengthen the weak, and let love abound. In Jesus' name, Amen.
DAY 4: Children + youth
Prayer: Father, we bring our children and youth before you as they embark on a new school year. Cover them with your protection and fill them with wisdom. We pray for a year of growth, not just academically, but also in their character and spiritual walk. Guard their hearts and minds from negative influences and help them to shine as lights in their schools. Grant teachers wisdom, patience, and creativity in guiding them. For parents, give them the strength and wisdom to support their children. May this year be one of learning, discovery, and drawing closer to you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
DAY 5: community + nation +world
Prayer: Lord of all, we lift up our community, nation, and world to you. In a time of division, uncertainty, and crisis, we ask for your intervention. Heal the wounds of our land; bring unity where there is division, and let justice flow like a river. For our leaders, grant them wisdom and a heart to serve the people. We pray for peace in our world, for an end to conflict, and for Your Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. Use us as instruments of your peace, to bring hope, love, and grace wherever we go. In Jesus' name, Amen.
DAY 6: TLCC Leaders
Prayer: Gracious God, we lift up the leaders of TLCC to You. Strengthen them as they lead, guide, and serve your people. Fill them with wisdom, vision, and a deep sense of your presence. Protect them from burnout, discouragement, and the attacks of the enemy. May they lead with humility, love, and boldness, always pointing others to Christ. Bless their families, and let their homes be places of peace and rest. Anoint their words, their work, and their witness, that they might bring glory to your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
DAY 7: ministry season
Prayer: Lord, we dedicate the 2024-2025 ministry season to you. May it be a season of growth, transformation, and abundant harvest. Equip every ministry, every leader, and every volunteer with the tools they need to serve effectively. Let Your Holy Spirit move powerfully in every service, every outreach, and every gathering. We pray for hearts to be opened, lives to be changed, and your name to be glorified. Guide us in every decision, and let your will be done in all things. May this season be marked by your presence, your power, and your grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
