Meet Our Pastor
Terry A. Smith is the Lead Pastor of The Life Christian Church in West Orange and Paramus, New Jersey. Pastor Terry has been married to his wife, Sharon, for over thirty-five years and together they have three adult children: Sumerr, Caleb, and Christian.
Over the past 27 years, TLCC has grown from 54 members to a church family approaching 3,000 people. A non-denominational faith community, TLCC is known for its vibrant diversity and robust leadership culture with people from more than 132 distinct communities in the New York City Metro area regularly engaged in the life of the church.
Pastor Terry is a co-founder of The New York City Leadership Center and has been engaged on the board, or played leadership roles, for a number of organizations including the West Orange Government Reform Commission, West Orange Rotary Club, Concerts of Prayer Greater New York, and the NYC General Committee for the last major Billy Graham crusade. A gifted communicator, Terry speaks in a variety of venues nationally and internationally to inspire people to discover and pursue the life God dreams for them.
He is author of both the Amazon best seller “Live 10: Jumpstart the Best Version of Your Life” (Thomas Nelson), and “The Hospitable Leader“ (Bethany House). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management (Church Studies) and Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.
A Yankees fan, he enjoys baseball, spending quality time with his family, reading, biking and Muay Thai.
